What a check looks like
- The agent sends a linkBy text, by email, or both, before the showing. The buyer chooses; nothing to install.
- The buyer opens it and scans their IDThen a selfie, from their own phone, with their consent.
- The agent sees valid or not validThe ID photo next to the selfie, with a match score. No background check, ever.
A passport is not a harder case
A Mexican passport and an Iowa driver's license go through the same check, in the same flow, at the same price. The buyer scans the document, takes a selfie, and the agent sees valid or not valid. Nothing about the document being foreign slows the showing down.
Passports, national IDs and licenses from over 200 countries and territories are authenticated as documents and matched to the buyer's face. Confirming an ID against the issuing government's own registry is a separate upgrade an agent can add.
Every one of Stellar's 84,000 members would be covered, not just the ones who opt in.

- Anything else? Send the verification link first, by text or email. A photo of a license is not verification.
- Open to someone unverified and you're flipping a coin. Three bad flips ends your day.

What it costs

What happens to the buyer's data
The agent never sees document numbers, barcodes or the address on the ID. ID images are deleted after 7 days and face templates after 30. Clear Showings runs no background checks.
